Norton Medical has a simple efficient management program to monitor clients in a drug abuse monitoring program for probation and child-protective service providers. This can lighten the workload of social workers exponentially, which could lead to a more productive work day.
The system requires clients to call an 800 telephone number daily. The calls times are recorded and can be reviewed by the social worker. An e-mail alert can be triggered when the client fails to login. By sending alerts, the guesswork of whether a client has taken a test or not has been eliminated.
It consists of a dashboard where the social worker can monitor clients. The dashboard can be customized to meet individual monitoring programs needs.
Probation manager and call in
Collection of samples can be very easy:
Clients can have traditional urine collection. It should be noted that the US Department of Transportation is in process of allowing laboratory oral fluid testing to meet drug testing requirements of airplane flight crew, mechanics and commercial truck drivers. The oral fluid collection process is very easy and does not need a bathroom or special facilities. Collections can be monitored in an ordinary office setting by ordinary office personnel. The collection is carried out in full by the client, and the monitor does not touch the sample as seen in this video other than signing the chain of custody form to assure the sample is that of the client.
Oral fluid collection
This is a new program designed by Dr. Marshall Zablen for child protective services and probation programs. The program is designed for clients to call in daily to check if they need to take their random test or not.
The client participates in their own recovery by making a daily call. Calls are recorded with the date and time. Social workers can review their clients phone activities and random selections on a secure dashboard.
Social workers will be able to see their own clients.
A manager will be able to view all clients call in and drug testing activities. They will be able add notes.
