A reasonable suspicion drug test is used when a manager or supervisor has evidence or sufficient cause to suspect that their employee is using drugs while working. Reasons that supervisors may use to determine whether an employee is under the influence includes: abnormal behavior, unable to complete tasks at work, slurred speech, and physical evidence of drugs.
As its name suggests, a post-accident test is conducted when the employee is involved in a workplace incident. Drug tests should be conducted within 32 hours of the incident and an alcohol test is required to be completed up to 8 hours after the incident has occurred.
